Gin is one of the fastest growing spirits in the world. In Japan, the juniper spirit receives increasing interest too. The Berlin Distillery is a young gin start-up, focusing on sustainable production. Jan Kreutz and his team produce seven different high-quality gins from sustainable and, where possible, regional ingredients. The team aspires to bring the spirit of Berlin into the bottle and to produce gins which are as enjoyable, exiting, diverse and unique, as Berlin.
Key ingredients for the gins are fresh organic grapefruits, organic lemons, organic oranges, organic juniper and organic neutral spirit. A highlight is the plant “sea wormwood”, produced on the Berlin Distillery’s own rooftop garden, which is one of the distillates in the Urban Garden Gin. All gins are manufactured by the team themselves, in a tiny 40 litre still in Berlin. No artificial or natural flavouring is used, nor colouring, sugar or concentrates.
Unique about the Berlin Distillery gins is the aesthetic packaging, featuring Berlin city motifs and has proven to be popular with customers.
Despite being very new on the market, the Berlin Distillery’s gins are already listed in 200 shops in Germany. The gins are very popular with customers, bar tenders, and owners of wine and spirit shops. Many gin bloggers have tasted the gins and given them very good reviews. The Berlin Distillery would be happy to introduce its gins to the Japanese markets.
